The Van Life Freedom Author

Hello there fellow van life enthusiast. I’m Joshua.

I’ve discovered the ultimate business model for remote workers.

With this business model, I’m able to:

👉 Own my own van completely debt-free

👉 Survive for several days without wifi

👉 Create semi-passive income online

👉 Run my business from any parking lot

But hey, let’s talk about that later. Back to Seth and Scarlet…

Louis The Van FAQs (March 2024)

Van Name

Louis (obviously…!)

Creators

Seth Iskelund (age 31)

Scarlet Eskelund (age 30)

The Van

Seth and Scarlet have owned several vans during their journey and have now built 10 vans for customers from around North America.

Their current van is a Mercedes 4×4 Sprinter Van. This is their build:

Upgrades

They typically fit out their vans with the more premium equipment, but yet, their vans don’t quite hit the 6-figure range. Every van built on their YouTube channel and Instagram are built-to-sell from Day 1, and are sold upon completion.

Affording It

Seth and Scarlet kept their expenses very low, have a small workshop and don’t have any children. With minimal student loan debt, they were able to build their own van for cash which blew up on social media in early 2020.

Making Money

Seth and Scarlet essentially run their own van conversion company while also living full-time. They aren’t really global travelers and are more alternative-living connoisseurs and business owners.

Remarkably, they complete their van conversions in 3 weeks or less, but that does require putting in 12+ hour days in the workshop.

It’s estimated that Louis The Van makes $23,000 from every van conversion, plus an additional $5,700/month via their YouTube channel from ads and affiliate links.

This brings their current net worth to approximately $270,000.

Collabs

I haven’t seen them collab with anyone famous in the van life world.

Location

I have struggled a ton to find their location. If you have any information, please let me know.

Past Travels

Louis The Van are originally from Canada and has driven around most of North America.

Big Moments

Unlike other YouTubers who attempt to create clickbait content for the views and subscribers, these guys play a different game. They focus on beautiful van builds and zero drama, so there hasn’t been any big moments in their journey.

That said, they haven’t uploaded anything for the past 3 months. Did they go missing? Scarlet has also shaved her hair really short.

Future Plans

Where to next? Are they going to keep building vans or head out on their own extended adventure?

Key Lessons

We can learn a ton from this authentic and driven couple. They raised the standards of van builds globally through their unique style, and we certainly can’t wait to see what they’ll build next!

Conclusion

A part of me doesn’t want them to start their own adventure. Their van builds are just incredibly addictive to watch! 😃
